Gynecologist
When to start seeing a Gynecologist:
Regardless of whether you’re having reproductive issues or not, every woman should start visiting the gynecologist by the time they turn 18 years old, or sooner if they are sexually active. While some teens may choose to talk with their pediatrician about certain health matters, only a gynecologist has the specialized training to help with menstruation problems (e.g. irregular cycles; heavy periods; delayed puberty), as well as address reproductive health matters or contraception.
Women will also start getting regular Pap smears every three years once they reach 21 years old, regardless of whether they are sexually active or not.
Healthy women should visit the gynecologist once a year for their general wellness exam. Of course, there are certain factors that may require you to come in more often. This may occur if you’re dealing with a reproductive health problem such as endometriosis that requires regular monitoring, or if you have a sexually transmitted disease or are with a partner that has an STD.
Services A Gynecologist Offers:
- Yearly wellness check-ups
- Pap smears
- HPV vaccines
- STD Testing

Minimally Invasive Gynecology
Why minimally invasive gynecologic surgery?
Whenever possible, we will always choose to provide minimally invasive surgical techniques. Using laparoscopic technology, we are able to treat a variety of conditions and issues including:
- Painful periods
- Heavy bleeding
- Pelvic inflammatory disease
- Endometriosis
- Ovarian torsion
- Pelvic adhesions
- Uterine fibroids
- Cancer of the cervix, uterus, and ovaries
- Ovarian cysts
- Uterine polyps
- Ectopic pregnancy
What are the benefits of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery?
- A much smaller incision, which also means a smaller and less visible scar
- Less pain and bleeding
- Shorter hospital stays (some procedures are outpatient, when means that the patient can go home right after surgery)
- Faster recovery time
- Quickly return to work and your everyday routine
- Less chance for post-surgical complications and side effects
